Financial Operations Coordinator

Children's Institute seeks a highly skilled Financial Operations Coordinator to support the organization's finance functions and ensure basic operations run effectively and efficiently. This part-time position is responsible for managing the invoice/AP process, providing support and data entry for other functions, and supporting general operations as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Operations:
- Manage organizational internal invoice procedures, process vendor invoices and approved check requests, print checks, obtain signature(s), mail to respective vendor, file paperwork
- Record deposits, record incoming funds, and proactively track receivables
- Manage corporate credit cards: oversee organizational process around credit card usage including ensuring proper documentation is received and entered in QuickBooks for each transaction and monthly reconciliation
- Accurately enter other transactions into QuickBooks as requested
- Assist Finance Manager in preparation for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements and preparation for audit and 990
- Maintain AP and AR document files
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Support the Operations team, provide ongoing organization-wide support to special projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2 years of previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or similar role
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, MS Excel, and basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field, or in process of obtaining degree
- 2 to 3 years of finance/accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in nonprofit accounting
- Experience using MS Office, Word, Excel, and similar office applications
- Experience using QuickBooks Online or other nonprofit accounting software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Dedicated to efficient productivity
- Ability to work independently and to work collaboratively in a team
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems, pay attention to details, and follow through
- Self-starter, flexible, motivated, and able to take initiative
- The ability to keep information confidential is required
Compensation and Benefits:
- $35,000 per year (part-time)
- Pro-rated paid sick leave and holidays
