Job Summary:The Youth Treatment Specialist will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide individualized support to youth, ages 12-18, who are experiencing mental health crises. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of young people and their families.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide therapeutic support and coaching to youth in a therapeutic milieu environment.
- Conduct room searches, complete laundry, and support inventory processes.
- Use evidence-based best practices, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing.
- Assess youth behavior for risk to self and others, and communicate with supervisory and clinical staff as needed.
- Perform milieu management and coaching with youth experiencing emotional dysregulation and/or crisis.
- Respond calmly and responsibly during crisis situations, using trained and approved methods and techniques to maintain safety.
- Interact with youth and families in a professional, positive, and therapeutic manner.
- Work closely with the team to maintain clear communication and ensure seamless care.
- Document youth participation in activities and interactions with others, as per program standards.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 21 years old (at least 2 years older than the oldest resident).
- Schedule requires flexibility with a rotation of weekend coverage.
- Working knowledge of computer applications preferred.
- Ability to display cultural competence and respond respectfully to people of all cultures, languages, classes, races, ethnic backgrounds, religions, and other diversity factors.
- Valid driver's license, automobile, and insurance sufficient to meet agency requirements preferred.
- State Certified Youth Crisis Stabilization Facility.
- Most work is done throughout the building and in the community.
- Local travel as required, fulfilling essential functions of the position.
- Ability to provide coverage as needed.
- Full-time or part-time.
- Flexible schedule, third shift (10:00pm-8:00am).
- Weekend rotation required.
- Holiday rotation required (premium for working holidays).
