Job Title: Youth Treatment Specialist

Wisconsin Community Services, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Treatment Specialist to join our team at the State Certified Youth Crisis Stabilization Facility in Jefferson County. As a key member of our specialized services program, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic support to youth in crisis.

Job Summary:

The Youth Treatment Specialist will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide individualized support to youth, ages 12-18, who are experiencing mental health crises. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of young people and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide therapeutic support and coaching to youth in a therapeutic milieu environment.
  • Conduct room searches, complete laundry, and support inventory processes.
  • Use evidence-based best practices, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing.
  • Assess youth behavior for risk to self and others, and communicate with supervisory and clinical staff as needed.
  • Perform milieu management and coaching with youth experiencing emotional dysregulation and/or crisis.
  • Respond calmly and responsibly during crisis situations, using trained and approved methods and techniques to maintain safety.
  • Interact with youth and families in a professional, positive, and therapeutic manner.
  • Work closely with the team to maintain clear communication and ensure seamless care.
  • Document youth participation in activities and interactions with others, as per program standards.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be at least 21 years old (at least 2 years older than the oldest resident).
  • Schedule requires flexibility with a rotation of weekend coverage.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications preferred.
  • Ability to display cultural competence and respond respectfully to people of all cultures, languages, classes, races, ethnic backgrounds, religions, and other diversity factors.
  • Valid driver's license, automobile, and insurance sufficient to meet agency requirements preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • State Certified Youth Crisis Stabilization Facility.
  • Most work is done throughout the building and in the community.
  • Local travel as required, fulfilling essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to provide coverage as needed.
Schedule:
  • Full-time or part-time.
  • Flexible schedule, third shift (10:00pm-8:00am).
  • Weekend rotation required.
  • Holiday rotation required (premium for working holidays).
