Key Responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner:

  • Admit patients into the Orthopedic Surgery Program.
  • Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations for all newly admitted patients.
  • Diagnose medical conditions and develop suitable care plans.
  • Independently manage patient clinics while collaborating with physicians.
  • Prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and recommend interventional procedures.
  • Refer patients for surgical evaluations when necessary.
  • Analyze MRIs and other imaging studies.
  • Perform joint injections as required.
  • Prescribe and refer patients to ancillary services such as MRI, physical therapy, and acupuncture.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialty providers for services not available at our center.
  • Educate patients regarding their diagnoses, treatment alternatives, and preventive care strategies.
  • Assist surgeons with clinic-based procedures as needed.
  • Provide leadership and support to the healthcare team, including medical assistants, billing staff, and front office personnel.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the leadership team, consistent with the scope of this licensed clinical role.

Educational Requirements: A Master's Degree is mandatory, with graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.

Licensure and Certification: Board Certification is required. A current APRN License in the State of Georgia, along with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Experience Requirements: A minimum of one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, particularly in Personal Injury, Orthopedics, or Spine care.
