We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Controversy Specialist to join our team at RSM US LLP. As a Senior Manager, you will play a key role in advising clients on complex tax issues and representing them before the IRS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise clients on IRS procedural and controversy issues
  • Represent clients before the IRS during examinations, Appeals, and post-Appeals matters
  • Prepare written communications to the IRS regarding penalty abatement requests
  • Work on IRS account issues, corrections, and reconciliations
  • Develop service ideas for RSM professionals to address IRS issues
  • Develop and participate in firm trainings and external webcasts
  • Prepare RSM Tax Alerts, WNT Internal Alerts, Insight articles, white papers, and articles in journals or external publications
Requirements:
  • J.D. Degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Licensed CPA or J.D. (preferred)
  • LL.M in Tax (preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in Tax, with deep experience in IRS practice and procedure, and IRS controversy
  • Experience managing staff and managers
