Job Description:

This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires the ability to transport students safely and efficiently. As a Bus Driver Substitute, you will be responsible for operating a school bus on assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and driving safety rules, and ensuring the well-being of students during transportation.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate a school bus on assigned routes in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
  • Maintain order and discipline among students while on the bus.
  • Report any incidents or accidents to the proper authorities immediately.
  • Assist students in evacuating the bus when necessary and participate in emergency evacuation drills.
Requirements:
  • A valid Alabama driver's license (CDL) with P/S endorsement.
  • A current Alabama School Bus Physical or ALDOT Health Card.
  • An acceptable motor vehicle record and the ability to remain insurable under school system insurance requirements.
  • The ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and exert up to 50 pounds of force.
  • Physical, mental, and emotional stamina to perform all duties and responsibilities as specified by state and federal regulations.
Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
