Sunday Night Youth Flag Football Sports Coordinator

This role is specifically tied to the Vikings Partnership Sunday Night Youth Flag Football Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily direction and management of the sports program, which may include organizing, delivering, and administering sports leagues, recreation programs, and activities targeted toward youth and adults at assigned branches.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service, enhancing the member, program participant, and guest experience and satisfaction.
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day programming to ensure revenue, program goals, and expense targets are achieved.
  • Deliver sports programs directly to members and participants a portion of the time.
  • Provide work direction to sports staff when appropriate.
  • May assist in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and giving work direction to staff and volunteers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in sports programs.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage sports recreation program activities.
  • Knowledge of rules in sports recreation program activities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Creative thinker with a history of applying innovation in programming.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build community relationships.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage programs to a diverse population.

Preferred:

  • Multi-lingual.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to actively participate in youth games/activities.
  • Ability to travel locally to YMCA branches and other program sites.

Additional Notes:

The incumbent is also responsible for taking direction from the Executive Director or Branch Director or their designee in completing projects or performing duties deemed necessary for the Branch and/or Association's success.
