Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of licensed healthcare professionals, the Home Health Aide plays a vital role in assisting clients with their daily living activities. This includes support with personal hygiene, mobility, prescribed exercises, meal preparation (including special dietary needs), and maintaining a clean and organized living environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and oral care.
- Aid clients in mobility, including getting in and out of bed and walking.
- Support clients in performing prescribed exercises as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a safe and tidy environment for clients, including changing bed linens and preparing meals tailored to dietary requirements.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and weight, as assigned.
- Collaborate in the development and execution of individualized care plans in accordance with agency policies, effectively communicating client needs to professional staff.
- Adhere to established clinical and administrative policies, ensuring compliance with infection control and safety protocols while maintaining client confidentiality.
- Participate in regular case discussions to assess client needs and promote health education for clients and their families.
- Perform additional duties as required to support client care.
Qualifications
Required Certification: A valid Home Health Aide Certificate issued by the State of California is mandatory.
Additional Requirements:
- Bilingual proficiency may be required based on departmental needs.
- A valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate from the American Heart Association may be necessary.
