Patient Access Representative Senior

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Access Representative Senior to join our team at Geisinger Health System. As a key member of our Access Team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional front-line support to our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and perform front-line office activities in an efficient and effective manner.
- Register incoming patients, support the patient check-out process, and schedule future appointments as applicable.
- Mentor team members as a senior member of the Access Team.
- Verify patient demographics and ensure all check-in procedures are completed.
- Monitor patient wait times and communicate changes to patients as necessary.
- Read and interpret insurance responses, and understand general guidelines and insurance rank requirements.
- Communicate necessary disclosures, privacy information, and regulatory forms with patients, and obtain necessary signatures.
- Notify patients or guarantors of anticipated financial responsibility and collect accordingly.
- Schedule follow-up appointments, including specialty or ancillary services, and perform cash posting according to department guidelines.
- Abide by organizational, EMTALA, and HIPAA guidelines, and maintain patient confidentiality and rights.
- Independently work queues to ensure timely resolution of all accounts.
- Process multi-channel messages related to patient and/or physician requests.
- Accurately perform medical record maintenance and releases.
- Assist with referrals and pre-certifications, and properly utilize and maintain patient recall and reschedule lists.
- Maintain productivity and quality performance expectations, and attend regular developmental training.
- Communicate updates to the clerical/Patient Access team, and assist in training and mentoring staff members.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
