Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures, operates real-time ultrasound equipment, and communicates technical impressions to radiologists. This role also involves assisting with records and inventory management.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of a two-year radiologic technology program or an ultrasound technology program
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist Sonography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Ultrasound Technologist from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 90 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six months of previous experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • ARDMS with RVT credentials
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist must maintain competency in Diagnostic Ultrasound Techniques, function well in stressful situations, and coordinate out-patient and in-patient exams for efficient completion. Additionally, they must have a working knowledge of preps for ultrasound and other radiographic exams.

Physical Demands and Environment

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will be required to stand for prolonged periods, lift supplies and equipment, and wear lead protection for varying lengths of time. They must also be able to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
