Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the successful operations of our Correctional Managed Care Organization
  • Perform complete medical histories and physical examinations, and render treatments appropriate to clinical impressions
  • Inspect, complete, and analyze medical records, and assign, review, and update medical classifications
  • Refers patients to specialists for consultations, evaluations, and treatments
  • Directly supervise all physicians and physician assistants, and oversee and manage all operations of the unit's medical department
Requirements
  • Superior ability to adapt to changing technology, programs, situations, and needs
  • Ability to forecast and develop plans to address changing healthcare marketplaces
  • Knowledge of computers, video conferencing equipment, and other electronic components
  • Effective change agent and strategist
  • Clinical competency in medicine
  • Knowledge of clinical and managed care concepts
  • Knowledge of alternate levels of care and services provided
  • Knowledge of Utilization Management and regulatory standards
Work Environment

The work environment is located within the confines of a prison, jail, or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required, and pre-employment drug testing is also required.
