We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist PRN to join our team at Methodist Hospital Landmark. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the delivery of quality surgical care by coordinating with the circulating perioperative nurse during surgical procedures.
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and within reach.
- Supply sterile instruments and supplies to the sterile field in a safe and efficient manner, following current AORN and regulatory standards.
- Monitor the sterile field during procedures and take corrective action if necessary to maintain asepsis.
- Prepare medications and solutions for use during procedures under the direction of the Registered Nurse, according to physician's orders.
- Maintain accountability for instruments, sponges, and sharps throughout the surgical procedure to ensure that no foreign objects are retained in the surgical wound.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduated from a surgical technologist program or has 1 year of experience in a hospital setting as a surgical technologist.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery, Certified (TS-C) through the National Board for Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
