Position Overview:
Under general supervision, the Mechanical Assembly Specialist is responsible for assembling complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and plastic components utilizing advanced production techniques.

Primary Duties:
- Utilize various tools to assemble parts and subassemblies according to precise specifications.

- Prepare for assembly by reviewing instructions, mechanical drawings, and parts lists; gathering necessary parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.

- Analyze and comprehend single and multi-level bills of material.
- Inspect incoming manufactured components for quality and adherence to specifications.
- Conduct quality control inspections of completed assemblies and subassemblies as needed to balance workload.
- Provide constructive feedback regarding quality and scheduling issues, refining assembly techniques to enhance manufacturing consistency.
- Collaborate with area leads to prioritize tasks; inform leads of any shortages or issues that may impact the schedule.
- Evaluate and confirm that work meets specifications using various testing methods and equipment.
- Document actions by completing production and quality records.
- Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as necessary.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment by adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing units for packaging and shipment.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly within a high-tech production setting.
- Proven proficiency in using calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and height/depth gauges.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and instructions, including geometric tolerances.
- Familiarity with gowning and clean room protocols is preferred.
- Effective communication skills with coworkers, area leads, and management.
- Self-starter with strong motivation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Capacity to multi-task and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Work Environment:
A temperature-controlled production setting requiring prolonged periods of sitting or standing; occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear protection) may be necessary. May operate moving equipment as required to fulfill essential job functions.
