Controller Job Description

Vaco Richmond is actively searching for a skilled Controller to join a stable company in the Richmond area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional looking to work in a dynamic environment with a great work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records
  • Manage all aspects of the accounting functions, including cash, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, and commissions
  • Develop and maintain banking relationships
  • Manage commercial insurance needs
  • Continuously improve and automate accounting processes
  • Prepare and administer budgets and forecasts
  • Manage all audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Provide management reporting and analysis
  • Lead cost management efforts and participate in the Executive Management Team
  • Perform month-end close and coordinate contracts, leases, and taxes

Requirements:

  • BS degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a controller capacity for a small to mid-size company, preferably in the government contracting industry
  • CPA certification is a plus
