Job Description:

We are seeking a Medical Emergency Response Specialist to join our team in Santa Cruz County. As a Paramedic Basic, you will provide high-quality medical care to patients during emergencies, utilizing both basic and advanced life support skills.

About the Role:
  • Assess medical situations, operate emergency equipment, and lead paramedic teams while ensuring effective communication with patients and public safety personnel.
  • Drive the ambulance on 911 responses and participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
Responsibilities:
  • Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures, including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids.
  • Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
  • Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Active CA State Paramedic License
  • CA State Driver's License
  • CA Ambulance Driver's License
  • Medical Examiners Certificate
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS OR PEPP, BTLS OR PHTLS
  • Driving record in compliance with company policy
  • Pass Physical Agility Test (PAT)
  • Some work experience, preferably in healthcare
Benefits:
