Lead Environmental Compliance Specialist

This pivotal role at the facility reports directly to the Environmental Manager. The position is hands-on and serves as the frontline representative for environmental matters. You will align with corporate strategies while executing local initiatives and tactics.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee environmental compliance for manufacturing and fabrication operations
  • Manage the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) and related procedures
  • Provide performance reports on the EMS to management for review and continuous improvement
  • Ensure adequate environmental training is provided as necessary
  • Maintain and supervise the documentation of environmental records
  • Stay informed on relevant permits and regulations, conducting inspections to ensure adherence
  • Guarantee timely collection and transmission of required environmental compliance monitoring data
  • Analyze and trend environmental performance metrics
  • Engage in compliance assurance and EMS auditing programs, performing routine inspections to monitor real-time compliance
  • Support corporate sustainability initiatives, permitting, reporting, and data management
  • Oversee environmental contractors
Qualifications for Success:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in a regulatory compliance capacity
  • Preferred experience of 10+ years

  • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, solid and hazardous waste management
  • Clean Air Act, Title V, Risk Management Plan
  • ISO 14001, Environmental Management System
  • Management of naturally occurring radioactive materials
  • Groundwater monitoring and remediation

  • Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act
