Role Responsibilities:
As the Chief Procurement Officer, you will:
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Financial Officer and departmental teams to enhance purchasing functions.
- Utilize data analytics to optimize vendor partnerships and support operational units in RFP best practices and negotiations.
- Drive cost reduction strategies through consolidated spending and effective negotiation of terms.
- Engage with various departments to assess sourcing requirements and assist in the development of RFPs.
- Work in tandem with the Controller and Accounts Payable to establish a robust procure-to-pay strategy that maximizes technology use and minimizes manual tasks.
- Oversee the management of the College's purchasing card program.
- Supervise a team of procurement professionals and clerical staff.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
- 8-10 years of substantial experience in procurement or a related field.
Key Competencies:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Exceptional customer service skills to ensure seamless processing of purchase orders.
- Adeptness in analyzing spending patterns to identify savings opportunities.
- Proficiency in implementing and managing technology-driven procure-to-pay systems.
- Experience in fleet management program development.
- Strong leadership capabilities to guide and mentor procurement staff.
