Job Overview

Position Summary

This role is designed to deliver engineering expertise for production facilities and corporate initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity, standardizing operational procedures, and expanding manufacturing capabilities for new product lines. It involves the installation and commissioning of new machinery and the introduction of innovative products.

The incumbent will leverage engineering principles and analytical methodologies to establish and perpetually refine manufacturing processes and products. Responsibilities may include identifying the necessary machinery, equipment, and tools, as well as the sequence of operations required for production and assembly tasks. The role also entails recommending designs for production machinery and other equipment, while providing guidance and support to vendors on design challenges related to tools, gauges, and manufacturing equipment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing by employing LEAN methodologies, leading to optimized workflows, minimized waste, enhanced quality, and targeted cost reductions.
  • Identify, implement, and document enhancements in processes, including cycle time, tool longevity, process capability, and automation.
  • Engage in operational and mechanical troubleshooting across all areas of the facility.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to resolve recurring or atypical issues and failures.
  • Accountable for identifying and prioritizing essential capital projects within the plant, overseeing them from conception to completion, and managing external engineering firms as necessary.
  • Support production and quality assurance efforts while ensuring process efficiency and maximizing machine performance, safety, and quality standards.
  • Utilize engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously enhance manufacturing processes and products.
  • Work in conjunction with product engineering to validate product and manufacturing concepts through testing and confirmation of manufacturability.
  • Assist in evaluating components for new products and conducting new product testing, including the installation of new tooling and equipment.
