About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves working as a traveling Physical Therapist for 13 weeks, with an estimated salary of $114,000 per year (based on 40 hours/week and 8 hour shifts).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Conduct thorough patient evaluations to assess physical abilities, range of motion, strength, coordination, and overall mobility.
    • Review medical history and diagnostic tests to understand the patient's condition.
    • Establish baseline data for a tailored treatment plan.
  • Treatment Planning:
    • Develop personalized treatment plans based on the patient's condition, goals, and progress.
    • Identify short- and long-term rehabilitation goals, focusing on improving strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance.
    • Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop a comprehensive treatment approach.
  • Therapeutic Interventions:
    • Implement various physical therapy interventions, such as strengthening exercises, range of motion exercises, balance training, manual therapy, and modalities.
    • Educate patients on proper posture, movement techniques, and body mechanics.
    • Provide guidance and support for exercises both in-clinic and at home.
  • Patient Education and Support:
    • Educate patients on the importance of following their prescribed therapy regimen.
    • Teach patients strategies to manage pain and promote physical wellness through techniques like stretching, strengthening exercises, and ergonomic modifications.
    • Offer guidance on lifestyle changes that may improve function.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work with healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients.
    • Provide regular updates on patient progress and changes in treatment plans.
    • Communicate with patients and families throughout the treatment process.
  • Progress Monitoring and Reassessing:
    • Regularly assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
    • Document the effectiveness of therapies and make recommendations for changes.
    • Perform re-evaluations to track progress and ensure treatment is advancing in the right direction.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting evaluations, treatments, progress, and changes in the patient's condition.
    • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance requirements.
    • Complete required documentation for insurance billing, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
  • Injury Prevention and Wellness:
    • Develop and implement injury prevention programs to help patients reduce the risk of future injuries.
    • Promote physical wellness and functional independence through health education and long-term fitness goals.
    • Encourage patients to adopt an active lifestyle and engage in exercises that will improve their long-term health outcomes.
  • Advocacy and Community Resources:
    • Advocate for patients to ensure they receive necessary equipment and assistive devices.
    • Guide patients in accessing community resources, support groups, and programs for continued rehabilitation or physical wellness after discharge.
