Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Technician to join our team at JTM Food Group. As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily thermometer and scale calibration verification, maintaining accurate records and logs.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections on complex machinery to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Implement and maintain ATP swabbing and allergen swabbing programs to prevent contamination.
  • Assist in environmental swabbing and maintain Foreign Materials logs and spreadsheets.
  • Review and log APTEAN quality records daily for failed tests or trends, ensuring prompt corrective action.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to review records and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Perform other support functions and activities as required to maintain a safe and quality work environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry
  • Experience in Quality Assurance
  • Ability to read and interpret Laboratory instructions and procedure manuals
  • Knowledge of GMP's, USDA, and OSHA regulations and BRC requirements
  • Must be trained in chemical usage and hazard communication
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Must be able to work in a 36–40-degree temperature facility
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications
  • Skill in being a self-starter
  • Ability to work in a team environment
Working Conditions
  • Repetitive hand motions, reaching, and lifting to 50 lbs
  • Stand and walk on most of the shift
  • Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl, twist, bend, and lift various weights as needed
  • Frequently climb ladders, steep inclines, and enter confined spaces
  • Exposure to cold, humid environments with temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 degrees
  • Exposure to noise levels greater than 85 decibels
  • Exposure to strong odors, including ammonia
  • Exposure to slippery and wet conditions
