Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Freeman Boatworks. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating computer-controlled machinery to cut and fabricate fiberglass components for our boats.

Key Responsibilities

* Upload correct files to machines to cut kits for builds
* Place correct materials in correct boxes
* Monitor kit availability and order materials as needed
* Ensure correct materials are loaded onto machine

Requirements

* Handle materials safely and efficiently
* Set up or program computer-controlled machinery
* Follow safety protocols and maintain machinery for quality assurance
* Perform daily maintenance on machinery
* Review blueprints and instructions
* Inspect components for quality
* Document work according to company guidelines

Qualifications

* Previous CNC operator or Eastman machinery experience preferred
* Previous experience with engineering preferred
* Experience working with fiberglass or in auto body repair helpful
* Familiarity with mixing gel coats and/or paint with working knowledge of repair tools (sanders, buffers, spray equipment)
* Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

* Lifting up to 50 lbs
* Climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, stretching, squatting, and bending
* Standing/walking 8+ hours per day
* May require working in awkward positions or tight spaces for extended periods of time
* Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
* Exposed to heat, cold, dust, fumes, and some outside weather conditions
* May be exposed to acetone, resin, fiberglass, putties, glues, cleaners

Work Schedule

* Standard production hours are 6:00 am to 3:00 pm
* 2nd Shift (night shift) hours are 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm
