ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist patients with daily living activities, providing essential nursing care to non-critical patients while ensuring a safe and hygienic environment under the guidance of the supervising registered nurse.
  • Deliver fundamental nursing care that addresses both psychosocial and communication needs within the nursing assistant's professional scope.
  • Ensure timely meal service and assist patients during mealtimes, documenting their intake accurately.
  • Monitor and record patients' intake and output as necessary.
  • Attend to patients' hygiene requirements, including bathing, oral care, and changing bed linens.
  • Execute basic patient care tasks tailored to the specific needs of various age groups.
  • Alert licensed personnel regarding any patient complaints of discomfort or abnormal vital signs.
  • Accurately document vital signs in the patient's medical records.
  • Effectively communicate any changes in patient condition to the registered nurse, maintaining awareness of the diverse needs of pediatric, geriatric, and general patient populations.
  • Assist with feeding and maintaining fluid balance, utilizing techniques appropriate for the patient's age and condition.
  • Provide clear explanations to patients and their families before administering care, addressing questions within the scope of practice.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with nurses, colleagues, and physicians.
  • Exhibit flexibility, organization, and the ability to function under pressure.
  • Conduct all patient care activities in a manner that prioritizes patient safety.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in managing and documenting the use of medical equipment, such as Foley catheters and JP drains, and inform the nurse of relevant volumes regularly.
  • Engage professionally with patients and their families, involving them in care planning.
  • Safely operate and manage medical equipment.
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care under the direct supervision of an RN or LPN.
  • Consistently apply universal precautions.
  • Adhere to the facility's dress code, maintaining a neat and professional appearance.
  • Fulfill annual educational requirements.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Punctually report to work and complete assigned tasks within designated timeframes.
  • Represent the organization positively and professionally.
