Strategic Application Leadership:
  • Formulate and execute a strategic plan for the application portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Provide direction and mentorship to the application development team, cultivating a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous enhancement.
  • Remain informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to utilize new applications or improve existing ones.
  • Build and nurture high-performing engineering teams to address the digital solution requirements from stakeholders, emphasizing project execution and delivery.
Application Development and Management:
  • Oversee the comprehensive digital application development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to comprehend their needs and translate them into functional specifications for the development team.
  • Ensure the prompt and cost-effective delivery of high-quality applications, managing resources, timelines, and budgets efficiently.

  • Stay updated on regulatory and compliance requirements related to application development and ensure adherence to relevant standards.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise a team of application developers, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development.
  • Encourage a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork among team members and cross-functional teams.
  • Work in conjunction with other IT teams, such as infrastructure, security, and data management, to ensure seamless integration and interoperability of applications.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and partners, effectively managing contracts and service level agreements.
Project Management and Stakeholder Interaction:
  • Lead and engage in project planning, prioritization, and resource allocation activities, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including business leaders, users, and executive management, to understand their needs and expectations.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues effectively to stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business units, offering strategic guidance and recommending innovative solutions to address their challenges and opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience (5 years of management experience) in application development, focusing on managing complex projects and leading teams.
  • Strong technical background and expertise in software development methodologies, programming languages, and application frameworks.
  • Experience with MACH architecture, distributed systems leveraging cloud, .NET, JAVA, React, preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong project management capabilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and manage budgets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid understanding of IT governance, compliance, and security standards.
  • Proven ability to adapt to a dynamic business environment and manage change effectively.
