Electrical Apprentice Job Description

MKD Electric is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our team. As an Electrical Apprentice, you will play a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and relay schematics to ensure accurate and safe electrical installations.
  • Perform point-to-point checks and pre-functional and functional testing to ensure electrical systems are functioning correctly.
  • Develop energization plans and communicate with teams to schedule necessary support for testing and commissioning of all systems and equipment.
  • Ensure the performance of all field-testing equipment is completed accurately and safely.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated electrical, HVAC, and mechanical background.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift to 20-30 pounds independently; lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
  • Must be able to lift to 60 pounds independently; lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
  • Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
  • Requires standing for extended periods with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors.
