Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team at the Columbus Consolidated Government. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for performing electrical maintenance and repairs on city-owned facilities, ensuring the safety and efficiency of our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical repairs and maintenance on city-owned facilities, including carpentry and plumbing tasks as needed.
  • Assist plumbers, HVAC technicians, and other maintenance personnel as required.
  • Repair and replace electrical equipment, including light bulbs, ballasts, receptacles, switches, contactors, breakers, motors, and belts.
  • Supervise and transport inmates as needed.
  • Assist with special projects, such as installing and maintaining temporary electrical services for events.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of electrical supplies and materials.
  • Knowledge of correctional rules and regulations regarding the supervision of inmates.
  • Knowledge of national electrical codes.
  • Ability to read voltage meters, blueprints, and electric schematics.
  • Ability to operate machinery used in performing essential job functions.
