Healthcare Professional for Family Support Services

This role is a crucial part of our team, focusing on providing support to families with children ages 0-3. The Family Advocacy Nurse will work closely with the interdisciplinary Family Advocacy Program (FAP) team to implement and manage the New Parent Support Program (NPSP).
The main responsibilities of this position include:
- Providing home visiting services to parents with children in the mentioned age group
- Offering education, support, and anticipatory guidance in areas such as growth and development, nutrition, parenting, attachment/bonding, individual and family health-related issues, family violence dynamics, problem-solving, family communication skills, and bereavement.
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Registered Nurse (RN) license with a current unrestricted U.S. state nursing license
- Minimum 2 years' experience post-BSN as a maternal/child or community health nurse, preferably within the last 4 years
- Home Visiting experience is a plus
- Basic Life Support Certification required
- A valid driver's license and ability to travel between office locations, private homes, and facilities where training and other program activities occur
- Familiarity with military family dynamics is preferred
You should possess the following technical skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry skills to create and maintain clinical records
- Familiarity with Family Advocacy System of Records or Family Advocacy Program Network computer software to document client visits and treatment in compliance with AF FAP standards and accepted professional practice guidelines
This role requires:
- Regularly sitting, standing, walking, using hands or fingers to handle objects, feeling, and reaching with hands and arms
- Occasional standing, kneeling, stooping, and crouching
- Lifting objects up to 20 pounds
As a member of our team, you can expect to work in a standard office environment with occasional travel requirements:
- Travel may be needed, primarily local during business hours, with some out-of-area and overnight travel possible
- Compliance with Joint Travel Regulation (JTR)
