Machinery and Piping Engineer

Philly Shipyard Inc is seeking a skilled Machinery and Piping Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design and construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our shipbuilding processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve technical specifications for assigned equipment and systems.
- Ensure compliance with classification and regulatory rules and regulations.
- Collaborate with design partners to revise and improve design drawings and documentation.
- Manage drawing and bill of material releases and revisions.
- Provide technical support to production teams and resolve installation issues.
- Develop and maintain documentation for dock trials and sea trials.
- Participate in weekly cross-functional meetings to discuss installation drawings and procedures.
- Assist with technical issues and provide feedback to design partners.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in shipbuilding, construction, or manufacturing.
- Proficiency with MS Office and basic CAD systems.
- Knowledge of classification and regulatory rules and regulations.
- Experience with piping systems and machinery equipment.
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will work in a heavy industrial setting and may be exposed to noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes, and smoke.
