Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Department Logistics Coordinator to join our team at Leon Springs Volunteer Fire Department Inc. This is a full-time position responsible for coordinating fire and EMS vehicle maintenance, equipment repair, and maintenance testing programs, as well as uniform and gear replacement for all personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of fire apparatus, medic units, and staff vehicles
  • Coordinate and schedule annual equipment testing for ladders, extinguishers, SCBAs, facepiece fit testing, fire pumps, and structural firefighting gear
  • Assist with policy development, interpret policy, and establish methods and procedures
  • Assist with budget preparation for fire and EMS supplies, provide accurate estimates, monitor expenditures, and apply cost-saving techniques
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships and serve as departmental liaison
  • Purchase firefighting equipment and safety supplies, fuel for fuel tanks at fire stations, and schedule maintenance as required
  • Develop maintenance schedules relating to the general repair of fire equipment
  • Enter data pertaining to the testing of fire equipment and safety supplies into the computer system
  • Coordinate the distribution of uniforms (work and dress) and firefighting PPE and maintain a database of PPE
  • Coordinate the repairs of firefighting equipment
  • Provide logistics support at fire and EMS scenes
  • Perform special projects to assist the department with goals and objectives
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in logistics and/or logistics tracking, preferably in an emergency services setting
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade; Associates degree preferred
  • Possession of a valid Texas driver's license; Class B license required within 3 months of hire
  • Completion of a recognized EVOC driving program; required within 3 months of hire
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with hazards associated with driving, traffic control, and working near traffic. Prolonged exposure to heat, cold, and weather events is possible.
