Gateway Domestic Violence Services is a leading provider of comprehensive services and safe shelter to adults and dependent children fleeing domestic violence. With a rich history dating back to 1979, we have been dedicated to preventing and eliminating intimate partner violence through counseling, residential care, and empowering people for social change.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Part-Time Case Manager to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will provide case management services to victims of domestic violence, including crisis intervention, individual emotional support, advocacy, and assistance with gaining access to housing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crisis intervention, screening, and assessment services to victims of domestic violence
  • Provides advocacy support as needed, serving as a liaison between local agencies and clients on an emergency basis
  • Assists with applying for benefits and securing necessary documentation
  • Serves as a resource for housing applications and securing appropriate housing
  • Maintains complete client files, including standard forms and progress notes
  • Interacts with clients and resolves disputes using mediation skills
  • Responsible for proper safety precautions and security procedures
  • Understands trauma-informed care and how to use it in crisis situations
  • Develops awareness of community resources available to referral partners
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of one year experience in human services, with experience in counseling and crisis intervention, including a working knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence
  • Embodies Gateway's core values and believes fully in Gateway's mission

  • Experience with domestic violence, knowledge of trauma-informed care
  • Values DEI and advances equity throughout the organization
  • Has a positive attitude and openness to supporting people in crisis
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Works effectively as part of a team to deliver overall services
  • CPR and First Aid certified, preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Bilingual skills strongly preferred
