Compensation: Negotiable based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit strong work ethics, ensuring punctuality and safety in the workplace.
- Interpret and analyze detailed shop drawings effectively.
- Set up work lines or fit jigs for material positioning as needed; ensure all connections are accurately squared and marked.
- Perform welding tasks in various positions, including vertical, horizontal, and overhead.
- Utilize resources efficiently to maintain budgetary constraints.
- Transport materials/products within the shop using overhead cranes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S principles.
- Adhere to proper PPE usage, including hearing and eye protection, steel-toed footwear, and hard hats as required.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support business operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Awareness of health and safety protocols.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial fitting or welding.
- Current and valid certification is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt to changes and manage schedule pressures.
- Strong attention to detail with a results-oriented mindset.
- Dependable and trustworthy with a focus on quality.
- Flexibility to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
Physical Demands:
This position is based in a steel fabrication facility, requiring constant presence on the manufacturing floor. Interaction with machining, quality control, painting, and crane operations is expected. The role may involve lifting up to 50 lbs and requires the ability to stand for extended periods, as well as the capability to climb ladders and weld in various positions.
