Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse II - Behavioral Health

Penn State Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse II to join our Behavioral Health team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the well-being of our patients.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse II is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing treatments, and providing emotional support to patients and families.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs.
  • Implement and evaluate care plans, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of employment or eligibility for licensure through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • One year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse, preferably in a behavioral health setting.
  • AHA BLS certification obtained prior to the end of orientation.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training completion required within 45 days of hire.
  • Act 31 training completion required within 45 days of hire.
