Surgical Technologist II

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist II to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain a sterile field, a safe patient care environment, and appropriate supplies/equipment as required for the operative procedure.
- Perform duties in the scrub role as assigned, including preparing the surgical field and supplies/instruments delivered to the field.
- Responsible for the maintenance of professional growth, including demonstrating self-direction in maintaining professional skills and participating in unit/hospital committees and projects.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to assist in providing for a cooperative work environment, including communicating and collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, directors, and other healthcare members.
- Participate in the implementation of strategies to increase productivity, including cross-training to other unit functions and units as necessary to achieve optimal flexibility.
- High school graduate or GED
- Completion of CST program or equivalent experience
- Certification as a Surgical Technician
- Good communication skills
- Ability to independently perform scrub duties
This position may be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening disease and radiation. The ability to perform heavy lifting (lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 or 50 pounds frequently and/or lifting 10 to 20 pounds constantly) is required. The ability to cooperate and work well with others, communicate with a mask on and not facing others, and work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints is also required.
