Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist II to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Surgical Technologist II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with our healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures, maintaining aseptic technique and adhering to established protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain operating rooms, equipment, and supplies, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate and meet the needs of patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the surgical process.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest surgical techniques, technologies, and best practices.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting open communication and a culture of excellence.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Surgical Technologist or in a related role, with a strong background in operating room procedures and patient care.
  • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified First Assistant (CFA) preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, with the use of patient handling equipment as needed.
