Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Technician
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Ryder in Jacksonville, FL. As a Diesel Mechanic Technician, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and complex mechanical inspections and repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance and basic diagnostics and repairs.
- Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
- Replaces defective components as instructed.
- Works unsupervised on most tasks.
- Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of the complaint once assigned a task.
- Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
- Works in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines.
- Acts as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.
- Demonstrates the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents.
- Other support duties as required to support operations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred.
- Basic tools, required.
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance and basic diagnostics and repairs.
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred.
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred.
- All other certification as required by location, required.

- Competitive hourly pay.
- Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700.
- Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter - four times per year.
- Sign-on bonus: $3500.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, weekends off.
- Hours: Second shift, 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
