About the Role:
Akumin is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic digital x-ray images while ensuring patient safety and effective communication with customers and radiologists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality diagnostic x-ray images with attention to radiation safety and proper documentation techniques.
- Ensure patient safety by pre-screening for contraindications and using aseptic injection techniques.
- Effectively communicate with customers and radiologists to ensure seamless imaging processes.
- Train new Radiologic Technologists and/or Patient Coordinators as needed.
- Troubleshoot X-ray units and peripheral equipment, including computers and PACS systems.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- ARRT (R) and state license, if applicable, required.
- CPR certification required.
- Valid state driver's license, if applicable.
- Strong customer service skills, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
Physical Requirements:
The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist may be exposed to outside weather conditions during patient transport, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.
- More than 50% of the time: Sit, stand, walk, repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs, see, speak, and hear to communicate with patients.
- Less than 50% of the time: Stoop, kneel, or crawl, climb, balance, carry, and lift non-ambulatory patients for transfer or examination.
