Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance Specialist will collaborate with the Senior Quality Manager to devise and execute strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing plant Safety, Quality, and Efficiency. This role is crucial in ensuring that products and processes comply with stringent quality and engineering standards, policies, and protocols.
Responsibilities include analyzing failures, corrective actions, and preventive measures in response to customer feedback. The specialist will lead teams in identifying problems, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. Proficiency in quality tools such as 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone diagrams, and process mapping is essential.
Key duties involve investigating and resolving product, process, or production challenges, as well as supporting continuous improvement efforts to elevate the quality system through methodologies like 5S and Kaizen.
Additionally, the role requires the identification and review of Part Qualification documents, including First Article Inspection, Gage R&R, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, capability studies, control plans, and process validation.
Monitoring, analyzing, reporting, and communicating quality metrics and performance are vital components of this position. The specialist will also engage in supplier development, validation, and quality assurance, ensuring prompt resolution of supplier-related issues and corrective actions.
Responsibilities include establishing quality inspection requirements for incoming materials from suppliers, facilitating Supplier Corrective Action Requests, and Vendor Quality Notices. The specialist will monitor both external and internal part and process capabilities while identifying and implementing projects focused on Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Cost improvements.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Quality, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is required, along with a minimum of 4 years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or continuous improvement roles. Familiarity with Quality System Auditing, Root Cause Corrective Action, Six Sigma principles, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, Capability Studies, and Statistical Process Controls is essential. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, along with at least 1 year of ISO or IATF experience. ASQ or Black Belt certification is also preferred.
