Childcare Educator and Support Specialist

About the Role

As a Childcare Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing quality experiences for children and their families, fostering a safe, enjoyable, and culturally aware environment that promotes wellness and engagement.
">Responsibilities
">- Assist in implementing curriculum aligned with established guidelines, ensuring a stable and consistent learning environment.
- Supervise children, classroom activities, and maintain program site equipment, promoting a secure and engaging atmosphere.
- Conduct ongoing observations and evaluations of each child's progress, using this information to inform instruction and support their growth.
- Maintain accurate records and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and training sessions (18 hours per year).
- Develop meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests, upholding the organization's commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, as well as the four-character values of Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility.
Requirements and Qualifications
">- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
- A valid Health form completed within the same timeframe, renewed every three years.
- A genuine desire to work with children in a developmental setting.
