Job Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Lawrence Spine Care. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to our healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Update and file patient medical records, fill out insurance forms as needed.
- Take medical histories and record vital signs.
- Efficiently document medical information using electronic applications and/or forms.
- Explain treatment procedures to patients and prepare them for examination while maintaining strict privacy.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments.
- Assist with wound care and cast care.
- Handle correspondence, schedule appointments, and arrange for hospital and lab services.
- Assist with simple patient teaching: procedures, laboratory tests, medications, etc.
- Maintain smooth flow of patients through the clinic.
- Assist with callbacks as indicated to deliver prompt, prioritized patient care.
- Authorize drug refills as directed and telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy if certified/registered medical assistant.
- Assure treatment rooms are appropriately equipped with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment, and keep waiting/exam rooms neat and clean.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
- Certified/Registered as a Medical Assistant.
- BLS upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six months clinical experience.
