Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Director of Student Financial Services, the Financial Aid Advisor plays a crucial role in delivering financial assistance guidance and support to students and their families. This position also encompasses administrative responsibilities that are essential for the smooth functioning of the Office of Student Financial Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service in all interactions.
  • Offer expert advice and support to students and their families regarding financial aid options.
  • Manage and oversee the processing of alternative and personal loans.
  • Facilitate the return of Title IV funding as required.
  • Assist with FAFSA verification processes.
  • Oversee the Parent PLUS loan procedures, including support for families, awarding, and reconciliation tasks.
  • Coordinate the Federal Direct Loan process effectively.
  • Stay informed about changes in financial aid policies and ensure compliance through regular monitoring and auditing of student files.
  • Uphold FERPA compliance standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree along with relevant experience and specialized training.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in financial aid, higher education, or related sectors is preferred.
  • Specific skills will be developed through on-the-job training.
