About the Role:

The Medical Assistant is a vital member of our healthcare team, working closely with primary care physicians to deliver exceptional patient care to our community. This role requires a strong commitment to providing compassionate and respectful care, ensuring services are provided within the Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and update patient health records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Measure vital signs, including pulse rate, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for upcoming examinations, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service skills, greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner.
  • Perform departmental-related clerical duties, including checking inventory, tracking referrals, and answering phones as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Degree or GED.
  • Active Medical Assisting certification from a recognized organization (required within 9 months of hire).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of medical assistant healthcare experience.
  • Two years of clerical experience in a physician's office.
