About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at TC Energy LLC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating natural gas compression and auxiliary equipment to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Locate and mark subsurface pipeline infrastructure with paint and/or flags
  • Oversee and manage pipeline or utility crossings and encroachments
  • Complete required Department of Transportation (DOT) and Company documentation
  • Perform pipeline maintenance activities such as leak repair, clearing and inspection of right-of-way, and assisting with tie-ins of mainline valves
  • Patrol pipeline right-of-way and assist with leak surveys
  • Operate company truck
  • Operate compressor engines and support equipment
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform mechanical maintenance activities, to include routine corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment and system improvements, and major maintenance projects
  • Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain gas-fired reciprocating compressors, turbines, standby generator engines, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps, low pressure boilers, oil coolers, air compressors, large-bank cooler fans and gear boxes, large diameter valves and operators, and other auxiliary equipment
  • Assist in full or partial gas compressor overhauls, to include heads, pistons, rings, liners, pins, bushings, and bearings
  • Complete work orders, generate gas handling plans, LOTO Equipment and pipeline segments for maintenance enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc.
Requirements
  • Completion of a trades program, technical training from a recognized institution (i.e., Millwright, Heavy-Duty Mechanic, Machinist), or relevant work experience
  • Experience interpreting technical reference documents and reading drawings
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Experience locating and marking subsurface pipeline infrastructure
  • Must have a proven safe driving record and provide documentation of past traffic violations upon request, as well as maintain a valid driver's license
