Job Summary

The Medical Dosimetrist is a key member of the radiation oncology team, responsible for designing and implementing treatment plans that deliver precise radiation doses to patients. This role requires a strong understanding of radiation oncology and medical physics, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement treatment plans using computerized systems and manual calculations
  • Coordinate treatment simulations and tumor localization on dedicated devices
  • Supervise and assist in the planning of beam modifying devices and immobilization devices
  • Perform calculations for accurate dose delivery and document all pertinent information
  • Provide physics and technical support to the Medical Physicist in radiation protection and quality assurance
  • Assist in intracavitary and interstitial brachytherapy procedures and manual calculations
  • Teach applied aspects of medical dosimetry to students and residents
  • Participate in clinical research and continuing education
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of formal training in medical dosimetry in a JRCERT accredited program
  • Eligible to sit for medical dosimetry boards
  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) within 1 year
  • Strong understanding of radiation oncology and medical physics
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years or more experience as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD)
