MRI Radiographer

As a Medical Radiographer at SUNY Upstate Medical University, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting requests and instructions from physicians concerning MRI examination techniques. Your duties will include determining body regions and projections, greeting patients, explaining procedures, and guiding and positioning patients before and during examinations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate MRI equipment by setting controls and making required adjustments using guidelines and standard procedures as directed by physicians.
Procure the required images by utilizing your knowledge of MRI techniques and protocols.
Provide technical supervision to junior and student technologists, ensuring they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
Requirements:
AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, NYS license/registration, and ARRT certification are required. One year of experience as a radiologic technologist is also necessary. Registration certification for Contrast Injection is preferred. The ability to work weekends and holidays on rotation, as well as overtime as needed, is also required.
