Job Description:

  • Assist physicians and advanced practitioners in examination and treatment of patients under their direction.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, collect laboratory specimens, and perform procedures with proper orientation and supervision.
  • Interview patients, take vital signs, and record information in patient charts.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff members to ensure quality care.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required; Medical Assistant program accreditation preferred.
  • Current CPR certification and national certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA, NHA, NCCT) required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Work in outpatient clinics and acute healthcare settings with adult, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
  • Requires full range of body motion, including lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods, occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds, and exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
