Position Overview:

We are pleased to present an opportunity to join Sutter Health as a Security Specialist II. This role is essential in maintaining a secure and safe environment for patients, visitors, healthcare professionals, and staff, ensuring the delivery of quality services with minimal risks to personal safety and property.

The Security Specialist is tasked with:

  • Conducting regular patrols and monitoring of the facility premises.
  • Observing and reporting any suspicious or unauthorized activities, as well as unsafe conditions.
  • Managing access control and overseeing key distribution.
  • Responding to emergencies and providing timely notifications.
  • Offering assistance and security services to staff, physicians, patients, and visitors, including the management of potentially violent situations.
  • Investigating and documenting incidents that occur within the facility and liaising with local law enforcement as necessary.

Job Requirements:
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
Proprietary Private Security Officer certification within 30 days of employment
Valid Class C Driver's License

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A solid understanding of the responsibilities of a security officer, with a focus on the maturity and judgment required to operate effectively in a healthcare setting.
  • Critical thinking abilities and decisive judgment, capable of working independently.
  • Strong written communication skills for incident reporting and understanding of business correspondence.
  • The ability to present information clearly and respond to inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Mathematical skills for basic calculations and problem-solving in diverse situations.
  • The capability to interpret various forms of instructions, whether written, oral, or diagrammatic.

Work Schedule:
Varied schedule with per diem/casual shift hours available.

Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $23.15 to $27.77 per hour, with variations based on experience, education, skills, and other relevant factors.
