The Role:

We are currently seeking a Production Laboratory Technician to become a vital part of our Analytical Operations team. This position involves executing a range of laboratory tasks that require technical expertise.

In this capacity, you will manage sophisticated equipment to evaluate samples or materials, perform tests, and communicate results to laboratory management. You will work collaboratively with your colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations, enhance laboratory processes, and deliver dependable outcomes that are essential to our products and clients.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in handling potentially hazardous substances, adhere to safety and quality standards, and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and ongoing improvement.

This role operates on the first shift (Monday-Friday, typically 8am-5pm or as business needs dictate).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct laboratory testing in accordance with established protocols and report any deviations or irregularities.
  • Manage the organization, storage, and disposal of all chemical materials, fluids, and gases in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Accurately document all data and results in designated controlled forms to ensure traceability and data integrity.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a tidy and organized workspace (5S Guidelines).
  • Support laboratory personnel by keeping glassware, logs, and records up to date in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Oversee laboratory supplies inventory by placing orders, confirming deliveries, and ensuring proper storage.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs and equipment records.
  • Identify and resolve issues by analyzing data and determining corrective actions.
  • Contribute to projects by collaborating with the team and participating in meetings.
  • Enhance personal knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities, special projects, and reviewing technical literature.
  • Aim for operational excellence, teamwork, positive morale, and continuous enhancement.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with prior experience in handling hazardous materials in a laboratory setting (Associate's Degree in a relevant field and/or cleanroom experience preferred).
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with both electrical and non-electrical laboratory instruments.
  • General understanding of quality systems and laboratory best practices.
  • Knowledge of safe handling and disposal of hazardous substances (flammable liquids, corrosives, and toxic materials).
  • Previous experience and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Strong time management abilities and the capacity to work independently while also being a good team player.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
