Job Overview: The Custodian is responsible for performing routine manual tasks related to housekeeping and the cleaning of both interior and immediate exterior areas. Duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing, and dusting furniture, as well as cleaning restrooms, windows, blinds, mirrors, and other surfaces in various buildings across the campus.

Detailed Responsibilities: This role encompasses regular manual work in maintaining cleanliness in academic, administrative, and athletic facilities, as well as campus living areas. Key responsibilities include:

  • Executing cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
  • Polishing and dusting furniture to ensure a tidy environment.
  • Maintaining restrooms and other common areas to uphold hygiene standards.
  • Cleaning windows, blinds, and mirrors to enhance the appearance of facilities.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must possess the ability to read, write, and follow both verbal and written instructions.

Additional Requirements: Candidates should be capable of climbing stairs and ladders, reaching and lifting above head, and standing or walking for extended periods. Familiarity with job-related tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies is essential. Adherence to safety regulations and maintaining a clean work environment is expected. Regular attendance and the ability to work overtime as needed are also required.

Preferred Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with a valid U.S. Driver's license.
