Job Summary:

The Customer Services Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional service to clients and requesters regarding release of information (ROI) requests for patient medical records. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field client inquiries and respond to requests for medical records in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Manage client concerns and questions regarding status of requests, invoice/fee issues, and request remediation.
  • Work with Supervisor and Team Lead to escalate complex issues.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and requesters.
  • Process incoming correspondence related to outstanding issues.
  • Stay up-to-date on HIPAA, HITECH, and state/federal rulings and statutes.

Requirements:

  • College education preferred or minimum combination of high school diploma & related experience.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and apply critical thinking.
  • Computer knowledge and accurate keyboarding skills required.
  • Prior customer service experience strongly preferred.
