Job Summary:

A reputable CPA firm is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Manager to join our Non-Profit practice team. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality in our financial statement reviews and attest engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of our firm's accounting and auditing professional practice policies, standards, library, and templates.
  • Perform pre-issuance technical review of financial statements and communicate directly with engagement teams.
  • Conduct pre-issuance Engagement Quality Review (EQR) and post-issuance review of attest workpapers, and communicate results to Quality Assurance Department Leadership and engagement personnel.
  • Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) procedures consistently within complex situations, and write technical consultation memoranda on these standards/issues.
  • Maintain technical accounting and auditing knowledge and skills by studying trends and developments in quality management, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Write thought leadership articles on new/emerging GAAP, GAAS, GAGAS, and Uniform Grant Guidance matters.
  • Assist in the implementation of new software, methodology, and audit tools.
  • Participate in firm triennial peer and PCAOB review inspections and other regulatory inspections that may arise.
  • Participate in due diligence projects to assess audit quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of existing engagements and/or potential firm merger candidates.

Requirements:

  • Active CPA license required.
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in public accounting.
  • Quality control experience required.
  • Significant knowledge/experience in the not-for-profit, charter school, employee benefit plan (ERISA and non-ERISA), and affordable housing industries, single audit background required.
