Resident Medication Assistant

The Resident Medication Assistant position at Eskaton Properties, Inc. is a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our residents. As a Medication Support Professional, you will assist residents with the self-administration of medications as ordered by the primary physician, under the direction and supervision of the Resident Care Coordinator, Memory Care Coordinator, Wellness Nurse, or Executive Director.
This position requires a thorough knowledge of medications commonly prescribed to the elderly and the ability to implement policies and procedures in assisting with medication dispensing. You will work effectively as part of a healthcare team, sharing information freely, using and seeking supervision and consultation verbally and in writing, and following both verbal and written instructions.
Responsibilities- Assist residents with the self-administration of medications as ordered by the primary physician
- Work under the direction and supervision of the Resident Care Coordinator, Memory Care Coordinator, Wellness Nurse, or Executive Director
- Implement policies and procedures in assisting with medication dispensing
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the well-being of residents
- High school graduate or G.E.D. preferred
- 8 hours approved medication administration training and passing grade of 85% or better on exam
- Satisfactory completion of 8 hours medication administration shadowing with an approved Trainer
- 4 hours of continuing education on medication administration annually
- Proficient ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language

This position is eligible for Eskaton's health benefits package the first of the month following 60 days of employment and paid time off benefits program after 90 days of employment.
