Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Western Sierra Medical Clinic. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality medical services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including taking vital signs, observing and checking for changes in patient condition, and preparing patients for provider visits.
- Aid providers during procedures, including administering treatments, collecting specimens, and ensuring accurate administration of medication.
- Document all pertinent information in patient charts, including test results, procedures, and medications.
- Coordinate patient flow within the clinic, troubleshoot problems, and communicate patient information to providers.
- Recognize signs and symptoms of emergent problems and notify providers as necessary.
- Graduation from a recognized Medical Assisting program or equivalent on-the-job training.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
- BLS for the Health Care Provider or equivalent CPR class is required within 6 months and to be maintained throughout employment.
- Bilingual (preferably Spanish) is preferred.
This position involves frequent contact with patients and other healthcare professionals. Work may be stressful at times, and interaction with others can be constant and interruptive. Frequent exposure to potential communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, bodily fluids, and other conditions common to a primary care clinic environment.
